Job Summary
The Syria Report is seeking a qualified researcher to conduct and write our first quarterly report based on primary and secondary resources. The aim of the report is to serve as a reliable source of data and information, as well as analysis, on specific sectors, themes, or issues of the Syrian economy. It will not provide policy recommendations.
The researcher will receive full access to our resources and will be hired to eventually produce four quarterly reports per year if our collaboration is successful. The report will include graphs, tables, lists, etc.
Job PurposeÂ
- Act as principal investigator and writer of the research project
- Develop appropriate research methodology, undertake the project, and evaluate outcomes in accordance with The Syria Report‘s objectives
- Plan, coordinate, and implement research project in communication with the Editor of The Syria ReportÂ
QualificationsÂ
- Research experience
- Economic literacy
- Good knowledge of Syrian affairs
- Knowledge of Excel
- Native fluency or professional proficiency in English and, preferably, in Arabic
Candidate SpecificationÂ
- Able to properly manage time and prioritise tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Possesses sufficient research experience
- Able to communicate complex and conceptual ideas to a wide range of groups, including audiences with limited knowledge
- Able to communicate actively with others throughout the research process
- Able to uphold strict research deadlines
- Flexible and adaptive to feedback and recommendations
