This 20-page paper analyses the role businesspersons have been playing in displacement and HLP rights abuses, and its impact on the Danish programme, in particular in the thematic area of “Peacebuilding and Justice”. It also provides a set of recommendations, which include supporting documentation efforts by Syrian civil society, continuing to implement targeted sanctions against perpetrators in Syria as a form of interim accountability, incorporating business and human rights concerns in the political and constitution drafting processes, and ensuring that the issue is cross cutting across Danish government programmes relating to Syria.
